Atlantis: A myth, legend or fact? 

As a young child I have been enchanted by myths and legends of old? The magic of Merlin and King Arthur. 

Stories of history over centuries ago. But still today conspiracies, the ideas of long lost civilisations and what happened to them, still have a methodology of storytelling! 

The idea of knowledgeable people for their buildings and their use of language. 

They used clay tablets and they wrote about their life's, just like we do today but in a notebook or on a computer and social media. 

They have found items in Pompeii of graffiti written on walls. Scrolls of writings that have been found all over the world of scribes writing in Egypt, where in fact from today we hold written word in libraries. This is what the great library of Alexandria was supposed to hold of great information for philosophers to debate and discuss.

The Egyptians left chiseled pictures of the great battles that were won and lost and used hieroglyphs to tell the stories to the next generation.

Hieroglyphs: a stylised picture of an object representing a word, syllable, or sound, as found in ancient Egyptian and certain other writing systems (from dictionary).

But even today tall tales are told of great ideals to advance the way the people think!

It was the Egyptians that told the story of an island that came to its demise by a great flood and was never seen again. It was passed down to scholars through the ages. This was told to a philosopher and he wrote about it in 2 books The Republic and Critias. His name was Plato, he was a philosopher of many subjects. 

I think he wrote these books as an err on the side of cautionary Tale as it taught. People in those days did not understand as we do today about how hurricanes and volcanoes work.

The gods would be unhappy" if you did not make an offering or follow the strict rules of the gods due to unwarranted behavior, these gods would strike you down. It is taught by many volumes from all different faiths in the world.

But I feel Plato could see both sides of the story? As for stories about great floods, is it plausible to think that these two stories have something in common? One of the great floods of Noah and his ark, to Poseidon, the Greek god and the island of Atlantis? I propose anything could be possible?

The time frame of the event is something that should be explored more, as we have changed calendars in the course of 10,000 years ago. Due to advancements in history and archaeology, we have to use science that can be used for the time frame. But Atlantis is lost, how can you find something that is lost? Well it is up to us to find it! You have to find clues and research?

I am 56 and want to be a screenwriter for TV & film. I have been writing for over the last 11 years. But as people, we need to understand how people use their words to insure their own ideals. If you put any kind of uniform on for work, then you are a part of a team.

I want to talk about subjects that are important to everyone because it affects us all. This is not about being better than each other, this is about having respect for each other.

But this is difficult With recent opinions of the GOP on different subjects.

One being the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and Trump's statement on the withdrawal.

I decided to write this about how a situation and the details are not always known. The outcome is such that all you can do is be the best of the best.

This is my character for my project called UNSOC. Her name is Colonel Alex James she works for the JTF (Joint Task Taskforce) as a military officer in the United States Marines Working in intelligence and liaison with different departments.

Colonel James works under the leadership of 3 star General John William Harrison III, he is an African American who has risen to the highest rank, working with the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the White House.

MEMORANDUM FOR ALL DOD PERSONNEL

SUBJECT: Statement on the Withdrawal Of Multi-Nations From Afghanistan on August 30th 2021

After the terrorist attack on Sept 11th 2001 the United States of America went to war against the perpetrators and organizers of these atrocious acts. This was an immediate response to the attacks due to the loss of life in the thousands and one of the largest terror attacks in history.

Anytime a country goes to war there is hope that every effort will succeed in victory. As there are many victories there are also many failures in war, loss of life and underestimation of the lengths of how long the war on terror will last.

Many would say that war starts with an action, unfortunately it starts with words and ideals. 

The coordination of these ideals came to light after the 9/11 Commission, which heard of the lengths that these terrorists would go to complete their mission.

"9/11 changed everything! Our laws, our military and our partners. But most of all the way we looked at each other." *

The war on terror was afoot and had no way of slowing down. The USA had no other option other than to find the people who planned and carried out this attack.

This attack was not just against the USA, it was against everyone who was allied with our country because it was the World Trade Center. It was against being United Nations.

Many countries don’t have the same ideals that are in the United Nations and in the Nato Treaty.

 

These ideals are to cause fear and loss of life. But we do not negotiate with terrorists or to their demands of bringing harm to the general public. The main goal is to stop any type of attack, anywhere in the world.

People from all walks of life from different countries were in the World Trade Center that day. It was the American way of showing commerce at its best. But to others it was a beacon of hope and growth.

After seeing the bravery of Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue. People helping each other. Instead of running away, they ran towards the danger.

Many are taught the rights of the free, but everyone around the world that day understood what "we the people" really meant. 

As the Afghanistan war continued, peace in the middle east seemed to be a dream. But with every day with working partners from all over the world it was not until the people of Afghanistan wanted to bring new ideas of peace but within keeping their own ideals and faith. The Afghanistan peacekeeping force was working towards a brighter future for the region.

Peace came to the region with ongoing help of all nation forces, patrolling the region. Everyday peace was the main priority. Many fought the fight, many lost their lives and for that  and let us never forget their courage of building a better tomorrow.

Until the region started showing an increase of different fractions of groups. It was given that the USA and other countries would pull out of Afghanistan. Deadlines were set but talks broke down.

Our first assessment was that it could take a week for the total collapse of the region. With new intelligence it became clear and countries would just have 24 to 48 to revise a plan of pulling out of the region.

Not because of wanting to leave the country in peril but because our number one priority was protecting our troops and everyone helping the fight against terrorism. As any real conflict, it's a race against time.

What was important was to leave anything redeem unnecessary.

Many would like to think that during a full scale deployment withdrawal of our military is an easy task. 

Our primary responsibility is to ensure military readiness and our deployment from the region. While talks within the different departments were taking place with our intelligence partners. We were also keeping the President and White House informed of the day to day intelligence of the operation. 

Our US intelligence assessments showed that a withdrawal of this size should have taken weeks or months. 

Let me assure you this is not a precise measurement for time as due to any situation like this, it can rapidly change at a moment's notice.

To which it did, giving all nations in the area only a few days instead of months to leave the country.

The risk assessments were the main priority of security during the operation and the threat was at its highest level. Our fears were accurate to our intelligence and a bomb went off in Kabul airport, killing US troops. 

Their bravery as told by military and civilian personnel was helping and aiding the civilians. Watching military personnel be handed their children over a fence by their mothers was overwhelming and heart wrenching. Hoping that their children would have a better life.

In any situation our main objective was to ensure in this small time frame that our mission was clear and decisive, our main concern was to assess all vulnerabilities on the ground and their safety.

In every decision taken the most important is that our troops were our main concern and to all information gathered while serving in the region. 

The main objective to any withdrawal is that our troops get home safely and that all concerned with the fight against terrorism be swift and just. In recent days a lot of controversies over how the withdrawal was conducted?

Without being on the ground, it is very difficult to explain the feeling of how long or how much time you have to make crucial decisions. It is very easy for people to comment on a situation but for all personnel on the ground it was a very tough decision to leave friends and colleagues. 

But when we are given an order by our president, we have to obey and our loyalty is the very fabric that keeps us working towards a brighter future for today and everyday peace.

Murder/Mystery TV series set in the USA.

Special Agent Cassie Walker FBI

A woman is seen walking into a nightclub, the woman with blond shoulder length hair  As she walks past the nightclub attendant, the music starts to sound louder, "Hi" she says . The woman smiles at her and she stops, the woman stamps her hand. 

You still cannot see her face. As she walks through the doorway people are sitting at the bar, people dancing. She walks to the bar; she turns towards the DJ playing. She is in her thirties,  

She smiles at the bartender and leads in, to talk to him because of the noise in the bar.

Hi Cassie, the usual?

Cassie nods. 

A dark haired man looks down the bar at Cassie, he slaps the bar with his hands making a drum roll sound and walks over to her, he is happy to see her.

"Well there she is". He leans in to speak to her. "Look, I'm in a bit of a bind, think you could do a couple of numbers for me?” I know you have come to have a good time but how's this sound, free drinks all night and I pay the going rate.

He stands smiling at Cassie.

Cassie smiles at him, she turns and looks at him. 

"Ok, on one condition", the man stares at her, he smiles, "Anything!” 

"I choose the songs, ok?" 

The man thinks for a minute.

“You have yourself a deal"

Cassie looks at him as she walks across the dance floor she turns and looks at him. 

“You have to take the time to do it right!" 

Smiles and turns back, he smiles. As he turns, he screws up his face.

When are people going to get over disco?

he shouts to the bartender

Hey! "I need a drink, a large one!"

The bartender shouts back 

coming right up boss!

Cassie walks to the platform they're using for a stage

"Hey!

The man looks at her

girl! What are you up to?

He smiles at her. 

Gonna sing tonight?" 

Cassie looks at Jackson

"He asked nicely what could I say?

"Well let's get set up"

Michael shouts at the rest of the band mates. 

Hey! Let's get this started!

Everyone smiles and is excited to play

The music from the DJ is playing, people are dancing and talking. The hum of all the noise. Glass bottles banging together as bar staff run off their feet getting customers their drinks. 

Women walking around with large trays with drinks and food on them.

Lady with a large tray walks towards a crowd of people.

Shouts loudly over the music so they can all hear.

“Ok Coming though! Please could you keep the booth lane free and move to the other side to that bar area! She points with the free arm ladies and gentlemen! Wouldn't want hot food spilled on ya! Now would ya?

She lays the tray on the edge of the table, grabs a cloth and looks at the furthest customer sitting in the booth.

OK honey, what's yours? He points to the pasta she grabs her cloth and grabs the plate

The waitress looks at him. Be careful the plate is warm! And you ma'am? Alfredo pasta, the man points to the woman and the ribs are yours and the burger? is yours. Enjoy your meal. My name again is Sammy, please let me know if you need anything else! 

She smiles and walks off.

She walks back to the kitchen grabbing her drink cup with a straw and keeps drinking it until it's all gone. 

The chef looks at the waitress. Hey would you mind changing the garbage bag as it's full. Hey look we have tons of food tonight that needs eating up so how  about it?

She walks to the cupboard and grabs a bag out of the large garbage box they buy in bulk.

One of the porters walks over. "Hey! I'll take the big one, do you mind taking the  little one?" The waitress looks at him, sure!

Cassie walks onto the stage waiting until the music from the disco has stopped.

The DJ comes on the mic 

Ladies and gentleman the disco will return after a set of music

The band starts playing and Cassie starts tapping her hand on her thigh. The bass guitar sounds great with the acoustics of the small venue. One by one the men start playing their instruments, Cassie walks to the mic, "Hi, I'm Cassie and this is one of my favorite songs to dance to, This is the SOS band, take your time to do it right, what do you say?" Everyone cheers. The band plays one more chord when Cassie shouts 1,2,3. After Cassie finishes her fourth song, everyone claps. "Ok I'm going to get a drink, hope you will too? Back to the disco, Dj take it away". Cassie smiles to herself and walks to the bar. The bartender gives her a big glass of ice water. She starts drinking it, when the club owner walks over again. "No Peter, I'm done! I want to enjoy the rest of the night". "No, this is a different situation?" Cassie looks at him and can tell he is upset. Cassie looks at him, "What is it?” “Come with me!" She drinks the rest of the water as she is really thirsty. She doesn't have much time to drink it, when he grabs her hand and leads her to the alley way in the back of the club, one of the bouncers is already there. He looks at her and points, "Over there". She looks at him then to where he is pointing. As she looks at him, Cassie can see he is upset. A porter is hugging the waitress as she is crying.

Cassie walks over closer as she can see some plastic sticking out of the side of a large metal garage bin. As she walks closer she looks and sees blond hair over the edge of the bin. She walks closer and stands on a plastic drinks box. She turns it over and stands on it. She gets a closer look. It's a young woman, her eyes are shut, looking like she is asleep. But she knows she is dead as she has a blue color to her skin. It's cold outside, the breathing from all of them can be seen in the air. The nightclub owner is beside himself, "What now?" Cassie gets her phone out,  "This is FBI Special Agent Cassie Walker, I need a forensics team to the back of Chester's nightclub Lansdowne's street, please notify the local police department. One female, approximately in her twenties, covered in plastic sheeting, no sign of life."

" We have another one!" Person on the phone can be heard shouting to the other FBI Colleague on the phone, understood, Agent riley is on route to assist, local police on route to your location. 

"Thank you!" Cassie puts the phone away and stands staring at the woman, the bouncer looks at Cassie "Didn't this happen last year, the same thing happened to another woman?" “yeah". Cassie, the bouncer and club owner just stand there, police sirens are getting closer.  Cassie puts her hand out and the bouncer helps her get down, "We all need to back up and wait for the police". Everyone moves away without saying anything to each other.

Unlegally Blonde vs Trump

I'm no lawyer but the case against  Donald Trump is and should be heard from the full force of the law.

When anyone, anywhere in the world that commits crime has to be investigated, has to show probable cause of proof, that the acts of the defendant committing crimes can be charged in a court of law.

I have served on jury service, here in the UK. So understand the idea of listening to the evidence.

That is why in America a statue of a woman with a blindfold on her eyes is outside every courthouse.

Because you have to listen and then make a decision of whether the person is guilty or not guilty due to the evidence put to the jury.

I have been listening to a podcast for a while now called Jack by Alison Gill and Andrew Mccabe.

Alison Gill is an ex Navy veteran went back to college, worked for VA was fired because she was doing a political podcast. She set up her own media company.

(I want to be like her! Now in my late 50's wanting to start a blog and talk about real issues that effect all of us. Also I'm English/American, lived there for 8 and half years first 4 and half as due to my stepfather being in the military)

Andrew Mccabe was the Deputy Director of the FBI that was fired by Trump due to the facts that he would not stop the Russian interference investigation. So basically he got fired for doing his job. I think we all know why he was fired.

Except in my point of view, why did ex-president Trump not get fired from his job because he caused January the 6th.

Any lawful person knows that if you work for an employer you sign a contract to the description of your duties for that job.

If you do not follow the duties that you have been given,then you can get fired. This should be for everyone.

This is where I found the lawyers for Trump not understanding what their job is.

This is because they keep making frivolous cases against the Department of Justice and the FBI.

Trump is now trying to sue for over 100 million for the raid on his Mar-a-Lago home over search and prosecution due to the documents case.

The prosecution would argue that this case had run over a year. This is because Trump would not give the documents back and this is the reason why the raid on his Mar-a-lago home had to happen.

It was when Alison and Andy were reading out the document that I couldn't believe that these lawyers actually wrote this document to send to court and then have the judge read it.

This is of course to try and persuade his electorate how wrongfully he was treated due to him campaigning and these government departments not wanting him to become president.

This is of course as lawyers would call it, a money grab and a way of Trump to show bias in the the Department of Justice and FBI.

First Trump's lawyer has said it was due to alleged "malicious political prosecution" and "abuse of process."*

The filing does not mention the multiple requests from the National Archives and the Justice Department for Trump to return the records”*

Then in May 2022 

“an attorney for Trump signed a declaration stating they had all been returned that June.”*

It turned out that Trump Lied and had more documents that had not been returned. Why the subpoena had to be issued in the first place.

Trump's case was dismissed by the U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon who was proceeding over the case. Of course a pause for thought is that this judge was appointed by Trump.

If you don't smell something fishy you have a blocked up nose because it is. 

Don't forget Trump has pending cases as the in a pending appeal of writer E. Jean Carroll's $83 million defamation verdict. Trump has also been accused of not paying for campaign rallies in over 12 cities across the US.

I would have to say this case is about money problems. But Trump is not out of the hot seat yet.

Any day now a decision should be made by another judge as Jack Smith has made an appeal against the documents case being dropped.

We will have to wait and see the outcome?

WELCOME TO THE NEW BLOG

I have been promising some blog posts due to illness and working part time there hasn't been enough time. I have been doing some behind the scenes stuff. (This is what I do when I'm ill) I've been working on decluttering and sorting out my stationery, setting up new planners, binders etc. 

Sometimes simplifying things sparks new ideas and thinking.

So I decided to change my blog name and have one blog. I like writing my thoughts just like a magazine.

I want to write about things that will affect us and how we can do things to help our lives be better. Like budgeting and saving money. The reason is because this is what I've had to do.

I have always wanted my blog to be like a magazine with hints, tips and tricks for me to share. I don't want to just influence you on buying things, I want to help you save money. 

I feel like the way the General Ledger sounds like a magazine.

So from now on this is what my Blog will be called. It's ok to change your mind, it's good to question things and it's a good job I hadn't made business cards etc or you would have to change them. 

But change is good because businesses change their websites and branding. It's to go with the times or sometimes things just don't fit your ideas and brand. We learn more about ourselves with change. It's like when you move house. We don't like packing and unpacking. The amount of things we have to change a new address, bills etc. But when you are finally settled in you realise it was all worth it.

The Health And Disability White Paper

The government has released their Autumn White Paper concerning disabilities. Helping people like myself stay in work or find new work. 

I want to work but now I have to face a new set of challenges with my Osteoarthritis. The biggest challenge is making people believe you are sick and have illnesses that stop you working.

But doctors take it very seriously when issuing a sick note. People think it's so easy to get a sick note from a doctor or the sick person is lying not to work. 

Many people like myself want to work. With the change in the working environment after covid proved working from home remotely or in a hybrid environment helps people still be a part of the workforce.

People with disabilities are different and might need to make changes to their needs to help them work. Now with technology it is easy to work from home but now what is needed is the advancement of retraining and learning for a new job.

For many this is the problem, money courses online are expensive. With the growing concern of benefits and then sanctions placed on people if they do not follow their commitments.

But this isn't so easy living with illness and health conditions. You don't know when a flare up is going to happen or a mental health issue might become worse. 

The only thing that will help people to overcome this issue is empathy and understanding. For employees and employers to work together. It is now down to the government  and DWP to ensure that people with disabilities  are treated equally to the law and disability law is followed.

People with disabilities are not the problem. It's ideas that people believe that are pushed in print and on social media using misinformation. 

To combat this, a clear idea has to be set with transparency with the government and not be forced to do jobs we cannot do.
